 Merc 225 problem

Motor started ran fine for about 6 'miles fished for 2-3 hours started back motor ran fine for about a mile then started missing off and on then went to a idle only, when you tried to give it gas it would die, changed fuel filter ran good for about a 1/4 mile then started missing again, suspect fuels problem, compression good, spark is good, plugs are clean, fuel filter is full and fuel is clean , what to check next?

fuel lines , ethanol could have damaged fuel line inner liner and be restricting fuel flow , and also check the fuel tank vent for restrictions

Which 225 Merc is it EFI, DFI or Opti?

Pour contents of fuel filter into a glass jar, check for water and contaminants.
