I demoed a few of the kayaks that fit what I was looking for. In paddled Cody's 115x, and loved it. I went to their Shop with the intention of looking at the 115, and put a deposit on a 115x! By next weekend I'll have my first kayak on the water!

Thanks everybody who have me such great advice and answered my hundreds of questions!

What a nice day to demo some kayaks! Really nice meeting the folks running the demo. Really strange how you can pick out a kayak in a book or on the internet and think that's the one! The saying demo before you buy is very good advise. Was really disappointed in my dream kayak. Good thing I was able to demo before buying. Guess it works both ways the kayak I really tried to stay away from due to cost just blew me away! Wow is really all I can say about it. Guess now I will have to buckle down and save more funds. Just a quick thanks to all the folks at the demo day and the folks behind the scenes thanks for the opportunity to try out many different kayaks in one place.

Darryl, you will have another kayak demo opportunity on May 10th at the TFF G2G at Lake Lavon. Steve and Lisa Oxenford, our Hobie factory reps, and our Mariner Ambassadors will again join us at the G2G. In the meantime, please feel free to call or come by the store with any questions or for another look at your dream yak!

"was really disappointed in my dream kayak" That's funny! rolfmao I had the same experience years ago. Thought the Cobra Fish & Dive was exactly what I needed. After a few demo days, a few rentals, and more looking, discovered it was the least suitable kayak for my needs.

Yeah thanks to Mariner Sails for putting this on and to those who brought your personal kayaks for people to try, it was a big help and I learned a bunch. I didn't realize how much difference there was between all the different models of yaks and was really surprised even at the differences between the Ride 135 and 115x that C-Frog brought. Very helpful and I am now definitely on board with demo before you buy as everyone on here always says.

Kyle, Congrats on the new Ride. I wanted to take my Ride out of the back of the truck and swap it with Cody's. Let me know when you want to hit the water.

Cody, Thanks for the advice on the paddle length. Major help. Just need to swing by MS and pick one up.

Thanks to all of you who attended and a special thanks to the folks who spent their Saturday helping keep folks safe and getting folks into all of the fun Yaks! It was a beautiful day and I'm sorry I missed it. We'll be out at the GTG with even MORE goodies to demo on May 10th. It's looking like lots of other companies will be in attendance as well so if you missed out OR if you want another chance to get in some more boats - plan to attend the GTG on May 10th starting at 11am at Lake Lavon. welcome
