Nice job Abu!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Not mean to hijack your thread. I've caught many sandies and hybrids with #3, #4, and #5 Mepps learning from Mr Dennis. Mepps are expensive and they average at $5 a piece. So I bought the supplies to make some. Some of the Mepps I made. Save a lot of money.

Not sure they had hybrids or stripers below the dams back then. I do catch hybrids and stripers in with the whites out on the lakes with Mepps #s 2,3, and 4.

I would do a comparison test if I were you. 2 friends made Mepps replicas for me. I tried them along side the original Mepps. The replicas couldn't do nearly as well as the Mepps. I can't explain it but suggest you verify yours works as well as original.

Yep, if you love fishing, I'd highly recommend getting a boat.

When I learned how to read my graph taught by Mr Dennis I feel more confident catching fish. @gotta fish...you are absolutely correct if you can find those school of fish they'll bite on anything. I've limited out on my homemade Mepps on two occasions at Ray Roberts when they were schooling under the boat. Hopefully I can run to Cedar Creek this Friday and try the Mepps down there too.
