Let's see..... Last time I spent the day with Dean Rojas talking tackle choices in different water conditions, weather conditions and reproductive states of the fish. We spoke about what line he was using and why and when to change from that set up. After three days of this type of tutorial, my fishing went up considerably, not only in my confidence in my lure presentation and tackle but one on one question and answer sessions about things I won't share on a public forum.

Who will I get at Toledo Bend? KVD? I don't know?

But one thing you can bet is that after we get five in the live well, I will be learning every bit I can from these guys.

So is it worth the $130? You tell me. Kevin Short and I still talk tackle over text messaging. Keith Combs and I are doing a Rayburn trip later this year. All from being a marshal.

To the OP.... I would call those girls and talk to them. Once they know your name and your eagerness to "help out" it goes a long way.

See you guys in a few weeks.

Jackson

So, apparently, the answer to that question is "yes". There is no logic that is applicable to this "sport". 50K for the boat, insurance, storage, tackle, etc, all to catch a fish that most release. Yea. Not much logical about that.

I called BASS today and was told I was #15 on the waiting list. Doesn't sound too promising but you never know. I was sure wanting to do this. They told me to call back next week so maybe with a little luck I will get in. Thanks for all the replies.

No, I see the same thing, BASS making it somehow, guess its not going to the anglers in increased payouts vs FLW, lol!

Capitalism. If you like it pay and participate. If you don't then don't. Worth it for some not worth it for others. Pretty simple.

BASS feels as though they need an additional source of revenue which is fine in business to me "Brand it however you want," however I CAN SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING QUICK, a higher price for the Elite of the Elite and a bare minimum for the last in the Elite points standing soon enough! An auction maybe, highest bidder gets WHO?

BASS charges you to be a marshall, PAA pays you to be a marshall!

Of the three events, the Marshal spots were only filled at Table Rock. Being in Texas/LA, Toledo will probably fill.

For those of you guys that choose to participate in this, thank you!

What would you pay to hang out in the locker room and the sidelines on game day with Tony Romo, Dirk Nowitski, Jamie Benn or Adrian Beltre? Seems pretty cheap to me.

If you think about it, most of us are hacks. We'd do well to win a bass club tourney. This way, you get to WATCH people who (presumably) actually know what they are doing , do it. I suppose there is a perceived value in that.
