Met a lot of you guys at Rowlett fishing with surf rods and 30# test.
We taught you how to fish for sandies and hybrids. Netted a lot of bait for you guys.
...and now you think you are the $hit.

You guys need to realize what castnetters can do to the creeks. Three guys with six buckets. How many sandies can you put in a bucket. 30 years, I have seen what they can destroy. Not to mention the gill nets. I have snagged many in Rowlett. Don't pull them out, Call the Game Warden.
They can shut down a creek. Next time you see a Game Warden, just ask them.

lots of PM's.
I have posted this story before, its one of the worst:
3 years ago, I am going down to Rowlett to fish with TheNightFisher around 9pm . I am walking under Firewheel bridge. I am going to Omaha for hybrids. There are two guys sitting under the bridge. I think "this is peculiar", especially since they have five 5 gallon buckets around them. There is a guy in the water, in his underwear, holding his cast net under the water. I tell them they cant be catching fish that way. The say f-you. Okay, I call Martin (Game Warden). He asks me to get the license plate. Okay, so I tell them I just called the warden, then make hay for their car, Lexus by the way, and take off. As I am watching the car exit the Firewheel field, a boy around 4-5 years old walks up to me. They left the kid!!!! I call Martin back and he calls the police. A few minutes later, the Lexus comes back for the child. Martin meets them at their house.
These are the kinds of people that your dealing with. I have tens of netter stories. Most of them happen at night, while you guys are not at the creeks. The stuff that happens around me during the day, well it don't last too long.
I've seen Carey kick the fish buckets back into the water. He doesn't do it for himself. He does it for you guys. Carey doesn't keep fish and some of you guys give him hell. I don't get it.

You guys trying to find all the hot spots, last night someone hit creek x. Dead crappie and sandbass all over the place from the castnetters.
It was never about the fish. Its always about keeping the a=holes away from these spots.
If you guys would take the time to meet TFF'ers, they would tell you where spots are. Plenty of fish. Everybody wants a quick fix, wants to "F" TarponFly, or just wants to be a F'ing sandbass hero.
So to the douche who posted... Thanks a lot... Hope your happy. You F'ing dick...
30 years of fishing Rowlett... every year some guy with 10 posts has to F everything up...
I see your mellowing with age.
I have to agree with you. Thread gets locked every year because of some douche bag.

So who's fishing this coming week? I'm fishing today if I can get an early enough start. Sounds like we've got big storms coming on Sunday, so who knows how much that's going to muddy up the creek for next week.

We've heard reports of warnings and tickets prior to those going up , so I wouldn't risk it there. It still seems to be safe to jump the curb at Firewheel.

I was pretty naive when I had my first encounter with cast netters. I hit the Firewheel bridge at 6:00am and it is pitch black. I did not have any type of light with me so I sit in the truck for 30 minutes. Then a group of guys pull up and four of them get out and head down the trail. I thought something was strange because they only had one fishing pole with them. I head down the trail 30 minutes later and I see them walking toward me with around 200 sandbass on a huge stringer. They had it stringer tied to a good size branch and was carrying it on their shoulders. I was clueless to cast netters but knew they had not caught that many fish in 30 minutes. Later I found out about cast netters and knew right away that is what they were doing. Wish I would have called the warden. I am better prepared now and will call the warden at the first hint of cheaters.
