My lady & I picked up some Jackson Cruise 12 kayaks recently. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a couple of Power-Pole Micro Anchors. The brackets were made out of aluminum & powder coated, they turned out nice although Starboard would have been sufficient. I had a chance to install them & take them out to Ft. Desoto this weekend. I thought I'd share some pics of my set up. I built a couple battery boxes that I saw on youtube, fitted them with trolling motor plugs with a 12V accessory plug on one for charging phones & what not. I work for Power-Pole but this is my review & experience as a kayaker & fisherman.

When we arrived at Ft. Desoto state park we rigged up the Micros at our launch & we were on our way. I set the Anchor Force level on 2 out of 5, it worked perfect for my kayak. We used the Power-Pole 8 1/2' Micro Spike but any 3/4" spike will work. We had no issues stopping on a dime & staying put all day. The wind kicked up big time in the afternoon so we had a chance to use the Wave Mode feature. It absorbed the waves & re-drove the spike perfectly, we never lost anchor once.

I'm fairly new to kayak fishing & look forward to getting out as often as possible. Hopefully soon I can make it out to the great Republic of Texas. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me.

I really like the design on these. So on the size battery you are using what is the average times you can go up and down? Also I have heard that there are different lengths in the pole that you can use?

The battery I rigged will last all day using it as much as you can. I used it all day on Sunday & my battery still had over 12 volts when I got home. You can use any length 3/4" spike that is out there.

Shaun, I have used my 7ah deer feeder battery on multiple all day trips. The cool thing is the unit has a built in battery meter so you can check your remaining battery with the push of a button.

The use any 3/4 inch spike is not necessarily true, I bought a 8 foot yak attack park and pole, supposed to be 3/4 inch, to big around to put into the micropower pole

If your spike has a separate or metal tip it will need to be cut off & sharpened. Some spikes will need a light sanding with 300 grit wood sandpaper to help the spike engage.

Nice setup. I am saving up for a power pole and can't wait to get one. Hopefully it will be real soon. Have you tried the battery pack? And if so how much use can you get out of one charge? I am trying to eliminate having to carry another 12v battery if possible.

Thanks. The battery pack isn't out yet but when it is it will be good for 100 cycles of the Power-Pole per charge.
