It's mounted on one of their brackets now. So they have another bracket that makes it extend down more? If so cool!!!

They make an extension that drops it down further away from the Jack plate.

You can get one of the extensions listed here. Either 1.5 inches or 2 inches.

Got the spotlight installed and just pulled out of the dock to check that all was working as I made some mods to my wiring and relocated my 9Touch on the bow.
First two shots with the spotlight on a brushpile just 100' or so from the dock.

It looks like I have a long learning period ahead to understand and get spotlight to do what it is supposed to do. I'll be on the water anyway so I have plenty of time. So far, I'm underwhelmed but, believe I'll be happy with it eventually.
Any help or advise will be appreciated as well as questions if I can help anyone.

Okie, how tight is your troller? Does it have any slop at all in it? On another site (BBC) someone had to install a trolleze or comfortroll or something like that and then their images improved immensely. They also said it takes about 30-45 second per sweep.

Grout, I don't have any slop in my tm that I can detect. In fact, it might be better if I did. The slightest pressure on the foot control produces a refresh right around each side of the 'v'.

I also believe I've found a bug in the system. When I touch 'range rings' it reboots my system! I tried it twice and it did it both times. I'll try again next time out and report it to Lowrance if it continues.

I also had an installation problem. The MK pics and installation guideline is very poor.
The pics of the MK are NOT like my Fortrex and installation is different. I was able to figure it out but, the sensor is held in place with double sided tape the sensor came with and I'm not convinced this is going to last long term. They include a metal mounting plate and it shows in the MK pic but, there is no way to attach it and the screw and lock nut won't work as they are not recessed and won't allow the plate to lie flat.
Anyway, it's working.
I'll try to post more as I learn more. As usual I'm disappointed with the information supplied by Lowrance. I want to know exactly how this system works and why so I don't have to learn by trial and error and never know for certain what I'm doing!
I think they give us poor dumb fishermen too much credit!

I have an Elite 7X-HDI, are there some basic setting that I can adjust to get a better picture, and can anyone tell me what they are? Or is this one of those where it depends on Depth and so on? ANY and ALL help would be great as I have never used a graph before. I do have the basic knowledge of how sonar works, but I have played with as many settings I can find and end up just taking back to factory. I mostly fish in less than 20 fow if that helps.

Thanks

Can you post a pic so we can see if it looks bad? I have never used the HDI but I can tell you if it's good or bad.

Check out this thread, some real nice pics and it shows what it's capable of.

RC, I think Lakemaster might have a patent pending on that feature.

GS, you could be correct but here is what Lowrance told me a few weeks ago:

Thank you for your inquiry.

Ron,

Unfortunately, we currently don't have the lake level adjustment, but it could be offered in a future software update.
