Anyone have a suggestion on how to get my hook back? Fish grips didn't work. In fact, I need a new pair.....

Is that a Common Snapper or Alligator Snapper? Both are viscious. Sometimes you have to flip for the hook. I usually have a pair of SS fish pliers plus a pair of standard combo slip joint pliers (10" or 12") handy.

It was an alligator snapping turtle and I saw one earlier this morning that was twice that size! I told my dad that it would be cool to catch one and get a good look at one up close. 12" pliers would be too short. I set him down in the boat and his strike was well over a foot.
