For some reason, people rename me. I get called those names on a regular basis. Casey and Eric are very common names people call me. Not many guys named Carey. For the future parents out there, please don't name your kid/boy with a girls name. It makes our life growing up a little harder. For my fishing business I go by Carey. I had to take up my middle name Alexander, and go by Alex, through my school years due to the kids making fun of me which landed me in ISS after they got fist sandwiches. So outside the fishing world people call me Alex. Mainly if you call me and I'm at a bar or somthing, and you say the word Carey, that means I need to straighten up because it's a business phone call. So there is the rant on that. I go by Carey and I go by Alex. Fly fished half the time and spin fished half the time. Air pressure shut the creek down bad mid morning. We could see the fish, but they didn't want to move. When that happens, only live minnows will trigger a bite to complete a limit. Otherwise it's a fish every 10-15 mins or so when the weather is wacky.

Report: maybe 10 landed before I decided to rescedule my clients for a better day. We could see over 100 fish laid up 6 ft in front of us. Fish spooked every time the fly landed in the water. Tried even a bone fish shrimp fly, and even that small thing would spook em. Not worth beating ourselves up for a doz fish, so we left before breakfast was over.

Carey, it's a good thing your parents didn't name you "Sue".

What is that, like 6' low? Amazing. Backgrounds in photos say everything about conditions.

So, today I finally remembered to GoPro the sandies I am fishing for. Yes, 30 min limit. Amazing video footage of sandies in the rapids. Half way through or so when I pan out, you can see about 100 sandies in 2 ft or less of water. As I was filming this, I got stabbed by their fins and have a bunch finger and hand wounds. Workers Comp! ![[Linked Image]](http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/tarponfly/White%20Bass/76E7A319-C825-4B0D-8FDB-42D2B066EC39_zpsotc0wssy.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/tarponfly/White%20Bass/3E85E0B9-4A5D-4005-8AB0-20A6711E046B_zpspy2osgq5.jpg) Fishing was steady today not the usual wack em dead day. Had a fly fisherman that kept just enough for dinner and a couple on todays trip. I think the first cast we caught one today. 2 Days ago in Creek XR-2.1, a main school has pushed way up the river system as you can see in the video. Finessing Flukes was the way to go. Then the air pressure got wacky and had to downsize. Left the river with fish still biting. ![[Linked Image]](http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/tarponfly/White%20Bass/67126466-B28E-4781-A1A9-B22C2DF4C9D7_zpscsavfdnd.png) ![[Linked Image]](http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/tarponfly/White%20Bass/E37FE0E5-8436-44BA-986F-35921D38F3DE_zpsfr6bso7i.png) ( He caught way more, just kept enough for dinner. ) ![[Linked Image]](http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/tarponfly/White%20Bass/E7D1AD4A-E60C-4C88-B519-A199E207FD51_zpspgfo7lcq.png) ![[Linked Image]](http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u201/tarponfly/White%20Bass/6C492FF0-2036-4667-894C-95F003481F0B_zpscihizjhu.png)

Old Alton Bridge at Hickory Creek. Wader up and move upstream to get away from people. Great gravel runs and pockets. Recommend you wear soccer cleats to dig into the clay. Wading boots don't work well. strip white/chart clousers or Near Deers under an indicator 1 ft off the bottom.

I hope you did better at Hickory Creek than I did today. The creek is a trickle right now. I am really tired of this drought.
