I wonder if he did anything or if he was just blowing smoke. I know you didn't want to find out. A lot of people who live on the lake pretend their property extends out into the water.

Is anyone catching any crappie, or just sand bass?

I caught 12 sandies and 7 crappie yesterday morning, and only fished an hour and a half. Had one a tad over 16 inches! And 5 that were 15.5-15.75. The rest were all around 14. Only two of the crappie were legal.

Mullet does it best.

I got skunked, I walked down the wrong side of the creek and once i got to the split i seen somebody walking back and he told me i was on the wrong side. So i walked back went to other side walked 45 min and fished for about 2 hrs and tried different jigs nothing. I could see a good 20-30 sandbass under and around a tree and no bite. They 2 guys came up and was down on the right and caught some within 15-20 min on live bait. Sucks for me.

Do you think the run is over? or might have a chance next weekend?

I've been catching a few here and there. It has slowed down considerably since 2 weeks ago, and I haven't seen females with eggs for a good week. The sandbass run is going to be very short this year, it might already be over!

It wasn't a run this year, just a limp.

Parking lot side with all the cranes. That next time I'm going to park at the old marina on rowlett rd and walk to the mouth. It would prolly be easier than going to the woods and tripping over the branches on the floor like I did.
