Thanks reel pro. . LOL...man I never would have given any thought to parking over there. Just seems like they've got that entire area sealed off to prevent folks such as ourselves from accessing the lake there. Man I just don't know if any of those sandies have made me mad enough yet to walk for 45 minutes through brambles to try and catch them. And I walked down in the lake up by where Marina del Ray was about a week ago and just a few feet past the rip-rap it was like quicksand...how wretched.

I remember when I was a teenager back about 1972-1974 we'd drive out to RC this time of year and park off the old hwy 66. Then we'd lug a s much stuff as we could handle a long ways up to probably about where the bike park area is and then we'd walk back and grab the rest of our gear and make the second trip. We were camping out and would have tents and sleeping bags and ice-chest full of beer as well as our poles and tackle, The creek was vacant at night just like it pretty much is today, and during the day there were just a few fishermen, We'd catch quite a few at night in the shallow rapid like areas under the moonlight. Spent one of the coldest nights of my life down there. But it was a ball.lots of fun! Thanks again reel pro.

Lol, I've thought about trying to walk across the lake bed. I guess I won't now!

Are there any areas through there that I can get to with a 6 and 7 y/o? Trying to take the kids out and catch some sandies but yeah, this year hardly a run, and getting to a good spot without sinking in mud or finding a spot a 6 y/o can cast at isnt easy. Would appreciate any help. What about WRC?

Just trying to get tight lines for the kids. Personally rather NOT catch LMB's all day than to catch a dozen or so sandies.

IMO it would be awful hard for the kids to get where all the fish are. At the 20-25 min mark from miller I DID see a guy with a pretty good stringer though. It would be awful hard on the kiddos though, it's quite a hike and lots of limbs, downed trees, etc. pray for the rain!

Cool. I will probably avoid the hike then w/ kids and all.
If I decide to try it will post the experience. What side do people go on?
Is it really muddy and all right now?

I will probably check out WRC this weekend if not sooner so will post up what I see there as well.
ALWAYS praying for rain.
And tight lines for all!

Heading out with a buddy. I'll let yall know how we do. If you're out there say hello. I'll be on crutches.

Look up " Aquaponics! The self sustained revolution." on Face Book and like the page to learn how to use fish to grow anything at 4 times the rate with 90% less water than normal agriculture while eliminating all chemicals and producing fertilizer for in ground plants.

That'll be a fun trip to where the fish are. Your armpits will look like hamburger meat.

I went to RC at miller yesterday and they were fencing off the area, not sure if there is any more parking frown . One of the construction workers told me that if I parked near the orange fence, I risk being towed.
