I am trying to update my HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch. I follow the instructions as they have listed on the website but nothing is happening. I can see the files on the unit after it boots up. But when I power the unit on, nothing happens. Anybody else have this problem?

When you download the upgrade are you clicking save or open from the lowrance site? You have to click open and then let it do it's thing then save to sd card. I had the same issue I was clicking save and it would download to the sd card but when I power up the unit it would never up date. Contacted lowrance and that's when I learned you had to click open and not save the file.

Assume you're using a Windows PC?

If so, when you download the file from Lowrance's site it comes as a "zipped" file. Which means it's in a compressed format. Copy the zipped folder to your desktop. Now, insert your SD card. Next, open the zipped lowrance folder... There will be a file in that folder. Copy or drag the file to your SD card. With the HDS. unit off, insert the SD card into the unit. Power on the HDS. It should start the update process. Once it completes and reboots, turn the HDS off. Remove the card and take the SD card back to your PC and delete the file from your card. Then go back and insert it back to your HDS unit. This is the process I've used for 2 years and never had a problem.

Hope this helps!

Jeff
