Never used it before but after seeing Mr. Wilcox on Honey Hole C-rig the bubble fry baits (and doing well I might add) I'm in the market for bubble fry's. Whats a good hook to use? Unless I scavenge my Eagle Claw Crappie Rigs my smallest hook is 3/0. That which I have seen on the internet has a bare hook. Any issues with getting hung up? Thanks.

Best wacky hooks I have seen are the trokar wacky rig hooks -- I bought a mess of those VMC and I can tell you they can be a headache (after catching a few fish, that weed guard can become bent out of wack)...Once I finally go through the last of the VMC, I will definitely be switching to trokar! Gamakatsu also makes some pretty nice ones, so you may look for those. The VMC will get it done, but like I said -- the weedguard is substandard.
I haven't fished the wacky rig for long, but it really has become one of my best confidence baits. The things that changed the game for me, were switching to an ultra-light, with 8lb test. Also, learning to get the slack out of my line ASAP on the first drop really helped. In my experience 90% of the time, the bites come on the first drop...
I gotta warn you though, once you get into fishing the wacky rig and start catching alot of fish on it, you will be addicted...

I use a 3/0 widegap. I don't care if I lose a hook from getting hung. I honestly don't get hung any more than you would with any other bait. I've thrown it into some thick stuff too.

I've tried several different ones and I like the Falcon hooks best. Some come with weight on them.

I like the Mustad Impact weedless too, but they are getting hard to find. I am going to try the Falcon ones with the weight next. I just saw them the other day for the first time at a Fork tackle shop.

Man that VMC weedguard will make even a Buddhist monk violent. . . I agree with Ban-D about the weedguard, I've started throwing mine on a size 1 or 1/0 EWG. I notice I miss fewer fish now too, without the weedguard.

VMC looked good, but the wire bent and broke,so I went back to my Gamakatsu finesse with the plastic or fiber weed guard. I use the 1/0 and have boated a bunch of 4-7 lb. fish with this small hook.

Falcon wacky hooks weighted or unweighted. 3/0 for smaller baits.6/0 for senkos and larger baits and I swear by the o rings for added action and saving the baits.
FISHING NOW NOT WORKING ANYMORE

Man that VMC weedguard will make even a Buddhist monk violent. . . Now that is funny.. Wonder what it might do to a Baptist Preacher?

Do you all know where I can find the attachments for the wacky rig so I won't have to hook through the worm? Someone told me about them but I don't know what they are called or where to find them. They hold the worm on the hook without piercing it and tearing it on every bite.
