Yep, it's muddy and the water's dirty, but I'm going anyway. Time wasted fishing and not catching is better than sitting at home and not catching. If the sandies don't pan out, I'm going to try for some channel cats.

Went for about 4 hours Today, covered a few miles, fell a few times, and not a bite. Tomorrow should be a bit better

Got stopped on the way out. Apparently my family wants to spend time with me, lol.
Still going to try some minnows out there this evening.

Minnows don't work as well when the water is stained...

Got an eater sized channel. Went down to a number 6 trebble after they kept stealing my bait.

Bunch of dinks. Probably resident cats. I was hoping some larger cats had come up out of the lake with the recent rain. Oh well. It was fun to catch some fish anyway. I saw one guy catch a small sand bass or yellow bass on the other side of the creek, but that's it.

I wanted to google some images before I posted this, but I'm almost positive I saw an alligator swim right past me in the creek last night. I thought maybe it was this beaver I'd seen earlier, but this was no beaver. I put my flashlight on some creature swimming through the water, and I saw an eye on the side of the creature's head, and they were glowing red from the reflection. From what I read, beavers' eyes apparently don't reflect light, and they are more oriented to the front of the head than this. No idea how big he was, all I saw was eyes poking out of the water. No fear of me, that's for sure, and there was nowhere for me to go quickly if I needed to.

You probably saw a gator, not unusual, especially after a big rain. I have not seen one in Rowlett creek but they are in the creek going from Hubbard to Lavon and some have been seen and killed on the main lake so it is very possible. No reason they would not be in Rowlett Creek either. You guys have fun wading, I have fished and hunted in areas with gators for years and they never bother me, only takes once though.

Caught this 13 inch male at the red pipe on the Parkside bout an hour ago on a silver blue fox. My first one of the year.
Ain't nothin better than watching a fish stretch my line.
