Do you think you can catch a bass on this lure? It is a Strike King Kong Shad. It's 8 inches long and I think it weighs 8 ounces or more and it's as big around or bigger than a banana. Convince me that you can and I will give it to you!

I bought this thing 8 or 9 years ago and the one time I tied it on, I was fishin in a tournament at Rayburn. I told my partner before hand that I had the secret lure that was gonna catch a giant! He didn't know what it was until I pulled the rod out of the rod box. He said, "you think you're gonna catch a fish on that? That thing is gonna scare them off!" I reared back and made my inaugural cast with the KING KONG SHAD. When it hit the water, it sounded like a brick hitting the water. We both started laughing so hard we were crying. We couldn't stop for about five minutes. Once I got over it, I got it in and made another cast and we started laughing uncontrollably again. After that, I decided that was enough of that, I took it off and haven't tied it on again since then. It has been sitting on a shelf in my garage for 3 years and every time I look at it, I think about how hard we laughed at it that day. It has been sitting there collecting dust and I have decided to do something with it. If you think you can catch a fish with this lure, convince me that you can and I will give it to you but I want to see at least a picture you holding a bass with it in its mouth within a reasonable amount of time, say 4 months, posted here on TFF. A video would be awesome if you could make it happen. I definitely don't want you to just stick the lure in the fishes mouth and say you caught it. I just took the King Kong Shad down to the water and made a few casts with it to be sure that it works properly before I posted this. It actually has incredible swimming action, very life like. I would say it is a "wake bait" dives a foot or less. If you get chosen and are not able to complete the task or even if you do, it would be awesome if you would be willing to put it back up for grabs on the TFF again for someone else to try. I am not charging anything and I will take care of the shipping. The cut off will be next Friday, March 21, at 8 PM. I will chose the winner by Saturday at 10 PM. This is not a joke so please tell your story!

If ivie and amistad were churning out the big fish I would.like to give one a try but the way my main two lakes are now I don't know if I could.catch any on that beast...

You really need to give that bait another try.
Post spawn secondary points close to spawning flats. Will give you a fish of a life time.

I never could get mine to run right. cheap attempt at a swimbait. yes it will work cause I have some 9" swimbaits that 4-5lbers eat

We are going to Mexico in April. I will know in one hour of fishing if it will catch anything or not. It will all be on video.

The Kong Shad is just a larger version of the King Shad wake bait. Probably not the most popular or best made wakes on the market but it will catch fish on the right day. I wouldn't let the size of the thing scare you off, there are plenty of baits out there much larger than the Kong, a decent sized fish that's either hungry or aggressive wouldn't think twice about choking that thing down or die trying.

I don't want it but I guarantee it'll pickoff at least one aggressive fish. I caught a 2lb fish on a foot long snake imitation the summer before last. Never underestimate the appetite and aggressiveness of a small bass.

That bait really isn't that big in the water as you think it is. Long yes but not bulky. Throw it on the right day and you will be rewarded
