The NMEA starter kit comes with a power cable. You have to provide 12v to the network. Then connect each unit to the NMEA network and the Point 1 to the network also.

Has anyone had a problem with the touch screen on an HDS unit? I have to put pressure on the power cable either up or down to get the screen to work properly. I have tried 3 different cables and all the same. As long as I put a little pressure on the cable the screen works fine. Let it go and the screen will not respond to touch. Help! If you can P.S. I have updated the software and just got the unit Yesterday. UPDATE ON PROBLEM The problem was low voltage, if the unit goes below 11v it will start acting up. Charged the battery and works fine now.
Work amazes me, I can sit and watch it for hours.

Now a question for the guru's. I have an older x-510c that I would like to network to the new HDS 12. I tried just plugging in the ethernet cable to both units and the 12 does not see the 510c. Not sure how to make them talk to each other. 510 is just a sonar not a GPS unit. They both have the yellow ethernet connector on the rear so I thought they would talk by just plugging them in. Any suggestions?

Okie, don't you use a Terrova? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else? I used to have a Terrova and I used to have HB's on my boat. But, I saw the light, changed to all Lowrance and bought a new Fortrex and now my boat is perfect!!! Started with Lowrance, lost my mind for awhile and converted to HB, didn't care for the dark side so switched back to Lowrance. And, no, I don't recommend this route and yes, it was dang expensive!!

Guys and Gals, Interpreting the side image and downscan it appears the downscan has a slight delay in the pictures that are posted. I have noticed this in my recordings also. How much overlap is there between the sidescan picture and the downscan? I understand folding the paper shows the angles, but it appears the sidescan bottom appears right at the edge of the cone angle for the downscan. What the sidescan does allow, is it immediately allows an angler to tell which side underneath the boat fish are on in the downscan picture. Are my observations correct?

Hookinbass, I am new to this new sonar too. I believe the 1st and 4th screenshoot look like bass to me scattered along the bottom. The 3rd screenshot looks like baitfish on the top with larger fish underneath. It could be black bass or sandbass. But closer to the bottom under the baitfish ball it looks like crappie to me because they are closer together. Just my newbie opinion. Everyone says to look for the white dots on the side scan and fish will provide a small shadow. I do not see this on your screenshots. I wonder if this was at 855khz if it would be clearer. Someone with more experience hopefully will chime in. Chris

Couldn't find answer in search, what does it mean when the unit blinks on and off awhile then shuts off? When first turn on it does ok for about 10mins then starts blinking/shuts off. Its a brand new mark4 dsi and deer feeder 12v battery, could it just be a low battery
