We are not leaving boat business. There is a lot of mis information out there. I hunt and fish just like everyone on here and know what coverages, etc. you need to be protected.

I had them for over 20 years and I cancelled Life, Homeowners, and Car insurance over their refusal to pay for a TV stolen out of my locked car in a Motel lot.

I would not expect any TV to cost enough to meet my deductible of my Home Owners Insurance which covers loss of such things including home TVs. I buy Home Insurance to cover the home and major Home related losses...not small ones costing only a few hundred dollars. Bet they will sell anyone a Home Owners Policy with a small deductible if asked, but most of us would have turned down the needed premiums.

One other thing to look at that I have learned from talking to Bob Luellen. If it is a small claim. You are better off paying for it yourself. The reason being, what you have stated above, cancellation. I paid out of pocket $1500 for a big scratch. I could have claimed it. But, then something big happens and you are looking at new insurance and higher premiums that may offset what you claimed.

I had state farm. I filed 2 claims in four years and inquired about another (paid the damage myself) and they paid nothing on inquiry They dropped me. I asked another agent. He told me if you move all your insurance to my agency, I will get your boat insurance reinstated. I moved it all to him. He could not get my boat reinstated. I have now moved all insurance from state farm That was two years ago. No claim on vehicles or boat since. Their loss, not mine. As stated before, I guess they have more business than they can handle.

I'm not happy with SF right now. I cancelled my coverage and they are charging me the entire years premium. I will never do business with them again.
