I didn't do my time for a discount. If they offer one fine and if they don't fine. I realize there are some things that do not have a 10% markup and some have 100% or more.

How do you prove you are a veteran. You don't get to keep your ID when you ETS.
DD214?
I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

DD-214 will work but that is an awfully important document to be traveling around with in your pocket. You can take that same DD-214 when you go to get your Texas driver's license and they will add the Veteran designator to your DL. How do you prove you are a veteran. You don't get to keep your ID when you ETS.

Not all veterans retire though. I'm a combat veteran but have no ID. Good call on the veteran designator on the DL.

Poor taste to demand a discount. Academy donates alot of stuff to Fort Hood, wounded warriors and fishing for freedom.

To me this is like a senior citizen discount. If somebody offers it to me I accept it but I never ask for it. And yes, unfortunately you can tell by looking at me I am a very senior citizen. I am also a disabled veteran. I have never received a discount for this, was not even aware anybody gave one. Like the senior citizen discount, if somebody offers me one I will take it but I won't ask for it. But I have started asking the store "is this the best price you can offer" on higher price items. It's surprising how many will offer a lower price if you ask.

Cabela's only gives discounts certain days each year. I always ask, worse they can say is no.
A lot of resturants do give discounts: Texas Roadhouse, Zaxby's are a couple that I know of.

My brother (active duty USMC) was showing my govx.com Seemed like they had an awful lot of cool stuff for outdoor types.
On another note, a big thank you to all of you that served!
