I stumbled across this little pond one day when looking for directions on Google Maps. (Great way to find ponds, creeks etc by the way). I must have driven past it 100s of times as it is right around the corner from where I live, but it's hidden behind the trees. I would have never even known it existed... but now I do! :-) Took my little 10 foot aluminum Jonboat on it and had a blast on Memorial Day. Didn't see any no trespassing signs. The pond lilys, or whatever they are, were so dense that you couldn't bank fish. Next trip I am gonna try some wacky worms down through the vegatation and see if I can land some decent size bass. This is heaven for my 13 year old son... It has nothing to do with me... at least that's what I tell my wife. wink

Nice Bass! I have a little tip for ya. Take that clasp off your line, and tie directly to the lure or hook. This will let your bait move more freely, and give it more action. Good luck, and tight lines.

Can't beat fun times with your kids, especially fishing! My daughter loves fishing and I can't keep her out of Bass Pro Shop. (I don't mind taking her). Good tip, Justin! Also by removing the clasp swivel, your bait will be more "weedless". You can keep the barrel swivel and tie a 10" leader on to it so you can attach your lure. This will eliminate most of the line twist. Good luck and happy fishing!

The hardest thing about fishing is figuring out what the fish want to eat.

Coach Lancaster,
Do you want GPS Coordinates or will this do?

Let me know...

It was a blast! That is one of my favorite topwaters... A broke back Jitterbug. We were hauling it in fast when the first Bass nailed it.

Coach and GandderGuy,

It is behind the Strip center and U-Haul and just a little north of the Junk Yard. I haven't found a way to get to it from the 2920 side, you have to enter from the feeder road of I-45. A little ways up there is the start of driveway entry that leads up into the brush. I drove through it to the backside of the strip center and then down the back ally way.

I like the hat too... it was a freebie at TrueNorth Outfitters at Champions Forest Baptist Church. I think it was the evening that Jimmy Houston was there speaking.

Good luck!

Jeff

GanderGuy,
Do you work in the fishing Dept at the Gander on I-45 north? If so... I am sure we have spoken.

Unfortunately you can now see it from the feeder road, so enjoy it while you can. Won't be long before it is either trashed or fenced off. Nice little find there Yeehau, lived here for 15 years and never knew it was there.
