Since the original Tread was locked,I'll repost the pics in case anyone missed them.A Bronco in the parking lot caught fire, which spread to one vehicle to the west, and two other vehicles to the East.

Man that sucks! Your truck is gone and now your boat is stuck in the water!

Sometimes I think the world has gone completely mad. And then I think, "Aw, who cares?" And then I think, "Hey, what's for supper?"

that sucks but it is a nice way for that dudes insurance to pay for a new truck and trailer. i would be pissed untill a $25-$30,000 insurance check came and than i wouldnt mind. that parking lot is always full so i tend to park near the dumpsters to the right of it, the walk to the slips sucks, but freak accidents tend to happen when we least expect them to. this is why we have fire extungishers on our boats too. it seems to me that with all of the gamewardens and cops at that park that none of them had the insight to bust some windows, try to get some of the vehicles in nuteral and push or tow strap them anywhere except where they were... it's not like there is a firedepartment close to the lake, which is what they might have done, being that firefighters work for insurance companies and not citizens of the community. just my opinion, but what would you do if you saw somthing like this going down?

techsammy,

I guess you have never had an insurance claim, but most insurance checks don't cover your cost to replace or payoff the car. "Sir, our records show that this truck was only worth about $5,000.00, you are still obligated to pay the remainder of the balance to your creditor. Be sure and contact us when you purchase you next vehicle, we would be happy to write your policy!"

Insurance companies are in the business of collecting money, and paying out as little as possible. I doubt if anyone came out ahead in this accident.

Why the dig on the fire dept and the cops?? I don't think it's very realistic to ask a fireman or an officer to put their life in jeopardy for a truck!! I don't know of many vehicles that you can put in neutral without the keys. There alot of older vehicles that u can, but not worth it!! Much less try and put a tow strap on a burning vehicle....Just my opinion! wink

Let's see. I totally agree with Forbidden on the insurance thing (been there done that.) I agree with Swerve, cept techsammy did say "try" to put the trucks in neutral. But I'm not getting real close to a burning truck by choice cause gas tanks go boom! Best thing is find the guy who started the fire and hang him! We have our ways even in West Texas with no trees!
BTW..Forbidden email me sometime about gap insurance... very interesting! thumb

Catchem early!
