Fished Canton lake pond with TFFer "naparat" since they had stocked the trout a few days ago. We caught a lot of trout and had a lot of fun, but one we caught was kind of strange. I is a trout, but its both yellow and kind of deformed. Anyone seen one like this before.

Ive heard of golden trout before, but never seen a deformed one like that before. Maybe part of an underground trout fight club

I have caught some of the "golden" hued trout which happens in stockers more often than you think...the deformity, I have never seen, but it looks healthy enough, given the deformity...

Often time that type of deformity happens when a fingerling is attacked young and heals. Or so I have been told by various agencies in other states.

It's not albino or it would have pink eyes.

not all albinos have red/pink eyes....there is the more common red/pink and blue
but that trout is referred to as an albino rainbow trout or a golden rainbow trout as stated, not to be confused with the actual golden trout that are found in california

Go to a fish hatchery and look down at the millions of small trout. There will be always be a few in the bunch that will look albino and some deformed. Fish are kinder then humans so they all seem to get along together!:-) Just one of those "freaks of nature". Nothing wrong with it...but I still wouldn't eat it! Looks like a swimbiat! Cool pic!

You should apply for a state record for a freak, deformed trout.

Looks kinda like what happens when a Gulp Swimming Mullet stays in the water too long.

That thing is why "catch and release" was invented.
