Needs some serious pointers and tips on Lake Naconiche. I have never fished the lake and would like to know the best options to fish with and where to go. Going to go in April on good Friday. I will be staying in some cabins there with my family. I will be with my dad and haven't been able to fish with him in a very long time because of scheduling. Just would like to be able to catch some fish and have a good time with him.

Any information would help

Thanks.

I could use some advice as well. Fish the grass mid lake or venture N or S into timber???

I have never been there, but I would think finding fish in April is pretty simple.

If it has grass fish the grass, fish secondary points and main lake points for pre and post spawn fish and go shallow and look for those still spawning and guarding fry.

Not much help..... Fished all day with a buddy and we got 3 bites. Grass was sunk to bottom..and seems to be dead, trees are also dead, so be careful, lots will probably fall this spring. Only good things was the wasp aren't out yet. Think we'll try Nacogdoches, at least it's free. juggle

I believe it is $5 access fee plus a buck for each person over 12 or 13. No big deal. Nice little lake, but can be tough right now.

good evening,

fished it a few times...watch for falling limbs and wasp nests...at the dam, shad cranks, 5' to 12' out side the grass, around to the right from the ramp..go back about 2 miles SLOWLY....tequila sunrise 8" worms, wat/red anything plastic...also white 4" pepper grubs....I've had good luck with tubes tight to cover....all dipped with spike it...squarebill cranks in the thick stuff...shad..$5 plus $1 per person fee.. park guys are real nice...will enforce no wake zone if they see you...

here's my six(6)lbs 'der at the dam...

nice 3# in the soup....

SOUPY STUFF...lol

good luck,

It's a 692 acre lake. I would think over the course of a couple of days someone could fish almost every inch of it.

Great little lake.
I've fished it once for about two hours, last spring.
Caught several in typical spawning areas on rattle baits. Seems most other guys were throwing plastics that day.
The ones I caught were some fattys.

Good luck and have fun.

You can't go wrong dragging a t-rigged 10' blu flek power worm. If you hang a right after you launch and go down that arm of the lake look for big yellow concrete blocks up on the bank. There is an old road that cuts across the lake right there. Caught allot of good fish in that area.. Good place to try. White spinners and traps have worked pretty good at times too. Bite has been pretty tough last couple of weekends though. For me anyways.

had a great weekend on the lake. Every fish was caught in a cove from 2 to 6 feet of water. Water temp was 58 to 61 degrees. Best bait of the day was a pearl white Lake Fork "Live Magic Shad"

Here are a few of the better ones we where able to get in the boat.
