I don't know. I obviously can't put myself in that situation as it is too horrible to imagine, but I would hope that I didn't lose my sense of humor also.

You must not care too much about your home town because you are in bedford, doing nothing but complaining about what people are doing and saying. You should be trying to help your family and not worrying about anything else, but them.

I have family in Louisiana and am well rooted there. My grandparents have suffered damage through the years due to hurricanes and, luckily, suffered only minor damage and power outtage to Katrina. I do not think anyone here is trying to shame Louisiana or hurt the people of its fine state, but bringing a little humor and light-heartedness to a horrible disaster. My heart has been with out neighbors since the beginning and will continue to be there. I do not take the picture as a serious representation of "we don't care about what happened and think it is funny." It, to me, is simply some humor and I'm sure many people, including those in Louisiana, can take it that way.

I can not imagine what your family has been through, but have seen many evacuees come though my small city and even take home in my city at the border where I work. The conversations I have had with people and the gratitude they share has given me a small glimpse into the horror they were given.

BUT, all in all, one must keep humor and laughter at their side, for it will help overcome the adversity that now overshadows them.

p.s. www.snopes.com

they actually investigated to find out wheather or not these photos were real. they found them to be fakes however i suspect a conservative bias.

I totally agree with what you say.Laughter helps alot of things. It helped me even when I got laid off at work. I somehow managed to get a few good laughs in there! My Dad lives in Baton Rouge, and 5 members of my family are living with me now (from N.O.) I would say that they think some of these pictures are hillarious as well... Whats been done has been done, and there is really no need to get bent over a couple of photoshopped pictures. Besides one would know that anytime that major things happen anywhere, the messageboard photoshoppers go to work smile
