Can you pro's give me advise on a deep cranking reel? Would you purchase a Revo Winch 5:4:1 or Lew's Tournament MG 5:4:1?

Lews bb1 pro. Same price as the winch and just as good. I have the bb1 pro now and throwing the 10xd is fun with that baby. Super smooth cast and retrieve. Will shock you when you first use it. The anti reverse is a litte strange at first but I got use to it quickly.

go to store hold both and determine which one feels better and to your liking seems the lews are little more smoother...

Ive always used Revos and still do. now if I buy a reel they will be Lews. cant go wrong with either, used a winch for cranking since theyve been out. Lews reels are just really going above the mark IMO. the Lews TP line are hard to beat but if I had to pick one Id go with the super duty. it has a deep spool for lotta line, still a low profile reel. I like them for making those needed long cast to get the bait down. hands down my go to cranking reel, the 5.4:1 http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lews_Super_Duty_Speed_Spool_Casting_Reel/descpage-LSDS.html

The bb1 pro doesn't have zero anti reverse. Its spins back on u about 1/8-1/4 turn. Can't remember why they did it like this but I like it. It's only on the 5.1:1 model. The higher gears have zero anti reverse. Guess it's to help with the big lures.

I'm no pro, but have different versions of both. I like the revo sx for frogs, swimbaits, jigs, swim baits. I think the Lew's BB1 would be better for crank baits.

Revo hands down. I like lews, but the winch is a super beast! I especially recommend getting a revo inshore for swimbaits. You can torture a revo for years and never have an issue. Heck, you don't hardly have to ever clean them either.

The lews doesn't have zero anti reverse on the 5.1 gear ratio bb1. It's like the old school reels. It has play in the handle like a 1/8 of a turn. Which I like for throwing crankbaits in timber. If my crankbait hits a stump or stick it makes it easy to back the lure up and come over the cover I'm fishing. I get most of my strikes when that happens.
