Trunk....Nice meeting you last week at Ann's Tackle. Hope those Costas are working for ya. I've been waiting for someone to give Fin n Feather the love she deserves. Great place, IMHO the best on the Bend.

See ya soon.

Wow!!! About time some fish started to turn on. Thanks for the Fin and Feather. Ate lunch there recently and the food was great. Love the accomodations too!
Gotta make another trip back now that the fish are turning on. Maybe we can catch them there because we sure can't do it on Rayburn right now!!!

Question: Are these lunkers considered 'pre-spawn' LMB or has the spawn begun there?
Man they are some nice fish!

Definitely pre-spawn. Water temps still running high 40's - low 50's.

Appreciate all the replies folks.

The lake level as of this morning is 169.3. Full pool is 172...so if my TCU degree is worth anything (I've been told that it is the equivalent of an 8th grade education), I would say that the lake is only 2.7 feet from full.

The water temperature is obviously cold. The number that I heard most often the last few days was 47 degrees. But boy howdy that is some good looking water. Supposed to really warm up later this week, so I expect things will only get better.

Hey Darold, your ears must have been burning. David Truax and I were just talking about you yesterday.

Yep Roger, it was a pleasure meeting you as well. Looks like I am gonna have to make another trip to see Ann. Gonna have to restock the shelves after this weekend.

Stay tuned..
Trunk

Oh god that's scary, tell Truax to stay off all my holes. Basically all of the Texas side within 10 miles of Fin N Feather. Haha

I will be down there the 2nd weekend of March. Actually we are coming down on Thursday and staying until Sunday. Congrats on buying the property. That place is awesome. I understand that it can be a tough business but you are in a great place to succeed.

What a shame. Killing a trophy fish full of eggs that could have been someone else's trophy or produced many fish just like her, because he doesn't like the looks of a replica is terrible. I'd think a saltwater "guide" would understand the importance of conservation. By law he's entitled to kill it, so to each his own I guess. Still just shaking my head.
