Oh man those catfish are just too fat and happy with all of these shad dieing off. It could be good in 2014 with a thinner heard of baitfish.

As of yesterday I got skunked 3 times in a row. Fished a total maybe 7 hours in 3 outtings. Yesterday we went Cooper and water temp was 38.8 degrees and only managed one bite and decide to call it a day after less than 2 hours of fishing. All is not lost as I found a couple of new places stacked with fish but just could not get them to feed.

Here is my thought. The game fish are still feeding but mostly on dead/dying shads. Nothing like an easy meal for them. Should be interesting next week with the warm weather forecast.

If I look back through the pictures on my last 3 trips, I see I took about 30 pics. And all scenery with only 1 fish pic. Yesterday, I did a crapshoot trip to the northern part of Texoma - 38 degree water - pedaled about 3-4 miles before even putting a line in the water - did not mark a single fish and very little bait. The bait I did see was mostly floating on the surface in their final death throes.

Question - if I had never thrown a line, would that be considered a skunk - or just a trip around the lake on a brisk day?

The skunks are piling up for me too. I'm sitting at 3 total bass for 2014 and I have spent plenty if time chunking at em. I don't think I've ever been through a winter so tough.

Yak Fin and I fished ALL day Sat on Martin and caught 4 LMB between us all under 16". Not sure how Brett and Yak Fin did on Sunday.

I have a white stripe down my back so far this year as well. BUT, a few days on the water without a single bite is better than a day in the office!

I predict most that fish next weekend will be able to forget all about this thread! I'm probably trying my hand at LMB for the first time in a couple of decades (on Dunlop), so I may be whining a little!
