I'm looking at the Nucanoe for a tandem option for taking my kids. I'm just looking for something with a rudder that handles wind better for bigger/open water that I can stand and fish. I like my Coosa but the wind is my complaint with it.

Why the 12 and not the 14? More convenient?

Between the 12 and 14 is a matter of preference. Some like the 14 more and others the 12. I have had both. I like the easier turning of the 12. The 14 was hard to turn for me. The 12 still tracks well and paddles pretty good. I can fit just as much [censored] in my 12 as my 14. So I'm happy! I have 2 12's and a Kilroy.

Congrats Ninja! We at Jackson hope you enjoy your Cuda 12 as much as we all enjoy ours! The new improvements are nice!

Hey Skeeter, I'd give the Big Tuna a shot if you need a good kayak for tandem or solo. http://youtu.be/Ws1ton6ynGY

Also, I look forward to hopefully seeing a bunch of you guys on the River Bassin Trail; I'll be at the Regional Stop in Waco (at Waco Outdoors) on April 12 and can't wait! Yee Haw! riverbassintrail.com
I have a feeling you guys from TX (where I was born BTW - Ft Worth - but have family in Beaumont) may very well have a good shot at winning the national championship...who knows, may be Ninja out of his Cuda 12!! :-)

Put a built-in livewell in a Cuda and I'd be all over it! It could always double as a cooler/tackle storage. The big tuna is just too big for me to haul and drag around the rivers.

Thanks. I guess I'm weird and just was curious how other come about choosing what they bought. For me if I was to go longer than 12' I'm pretty sure I'd need a bed extension or the like to haul it around. Like I said I'm weird and curious.

How do you like your Kilroy? That one is still on my serious consideration list.

It has a bit of "nose wobble" when you paddle it. I don't have a rudder on it and am considering adding one (this is a preference for rudders not for the wobble). I use it for fly fishing and for smaller lakes.

Heres what I like about it. Its wide open tons of space. Its a good bit lighter than my cuda's. It has a nice flat floor. I like the plastic cover, I put my ice chest under it and keep it out of the sun. I haven't used on a large lake yet. I'm gun shy of using a sink on big water. For what I use it for its great.

Hey Drew!
Try to get in touch with Wendell Bond about getting a Cuda 12 or 14. He is looking at the PA14 but I think it would be too much for him to handle. I offered one of my Cudas to him to take for a paddle, maybe when it warms up I will get him out in one of them. PM me if you want his number. He would get a kick out of you calling him and talking about a fishing kayak with him.

Man, those are nice upgrades. Owning a kayak is frustrating. Every year, I want a new one. Where are the geartracks? I don't see them.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack
