What r some things you can do to help slow the fall rate of your jig? I have heard your trailer can do this. If so, what kind of trailer? Thanks.

Lighter jig, more buoyant trailer like an Uncle Josh Big Daddy No. 1 Pork Frog.

Lighter jig, more buoyant trailer like an Uncle Josh Big Daddy No. 1 Pork Frog. This is good.^^ Also a twin tail grub does the trick.

Wouldn't all the salt make it sinker faster?

Then comes the next question, that no one can ever answer....how slow is too slow? Some folks would never go under a 1/2 oz. jig, and do quite well. Some can't seem to get it slow, or light, enough. There were some hollow-headed, rattling, jigs available back-in-the-day for really slow falls and, yes, they were a gimmick and were way too slow. You can trim the fat part of pork frogs with a razor blade sideways in a /\/\/\/\ shape and get a slower fall plus a bit more action....just sayin....
Now Entering the Black Forest Caution: -camouflage cottonmouths -stumps are perpetually 4" under surface -unforecast windstorms -gators that act funny -game wardens off their meds Have a Nice Day

I can answer that. Let the fish tell you In all seriousness, I've gone as light as 3/16 oz. this time of year. But typically, I'll throw a 3/8 oz with a larger trailer.

Wouldn't all the salt make it sinker faster? We're talking about slowing the fall on a jig right?

If you are lets say throwing a 1/2oz jig with a craw trailer you can slow the rate of fall by decreasing the weight of the jig and by adding a larger trailer that gives the jig more water resistance. Good trailer to use is a gambler ugly otter, full size brush hog bitter in half, missile baits d-bomb Throw these trailers on a 3/8oz jig where you would fish a 1/2oz or heavier jig to get a slower

I have used a Brush Hog works great on a 1/2 oz jig, big fish seem to like large baits.
