Bait selection isn't as important as knowing how to read the fish.

Some M80's and my Glock .22 on my hip

I started using a Matt Lures bluegill swimbait this past year and caught some of the biggest fish I've ever caught. Nothing ticks off a bass more, than a bluegill in their bed, nose down digging around for eggs

I have seen a bass not do anything when a trick worm was in her bed for 20 min and the first flip of a beaver made her jump on it like it just slapped her mama. I think the bait selection is more important than its getting credit for. For a big fish I prefer a Mattlures Perch. Nothing sets a big bass off like a perch in a feeding position on her bed. Little males will hit almost anything but to get a big female to commit takes years of reading fish and knowing when to stay and when to go to the next one.

5in big hammer swimbait in Invader or Rob's bluegill. Unbeatable for big ones on beds.

Mattlures Bluegill swimbait. Just match the color with sunfish where you're fishing and you're golden.

I typically use black/blue, white, or green pumpkin.
