Hey Banker, how long after the TPWD stockings stop will the fishing still be decent at the Canyon Tailrace? We're trying again out there tomorrow.

You should be able to catch some. The best times to fish are the day of the stockings and the next three days after em. There has been two months of stockings that have taken place at the Trail Race and I am sure there are some fish left over waiting to be caught. Let us know how you do.

Man that would not ever happen again in a million years. You guys hit the "JACK POT" or the "MOTHER LODE"! That had to be one heck of a morning fishing a super spot all by yourselves after a stocking. A good effort paid off! GREAT JOB !




Side Note: Do you think there will be anymore stockings on the Guadalupe ?

As for anymore stockings your guess is as good as mine. I would keep a eye on the Parks&Wildlife web site.

As you always say Chuck. "It don't get any better than this". That is a once in a lifetime event. Over a thousand freshly stocked trout. A great spot on the Guadalupe. Fish had plenty of time to settle in,and you guys are the only two there. What would be the odds? Talking about being at the right place at the right time. Event of a lifetime. Good job guys.



Side Note: Looks like trout season is over for now. I guess there are some pockets still holding em. You gonna try for em a few more times?

As for trying for the trout in the deep pockets,there is a slim chance that I may head up river road one more time. However it would be for a Granny D's pancake and a side order of their thick sliced bacon.
