6s and 8s are fine; I tie my deeper flies for the 5 wt. on 4s and 6s.

My favorite is a beadhead streamer made with green craft fur on top and white angel hair on the bottom, tied sparse. Sz 8 - 12, smaller size will frequently tear them up when the minnow guys are getting no bites. Had some uncomfortable days on the water surrounded by pissed off people.

My therapist says she's happy I flyfish for the meditative qualities. Little does she know it's the cause of my PTSD.

Also touched by His noodly appendage.

Those are the best days brush pile. Especially when the wind is just right you can hear them whispering how pissed off they are that you caught another one on the 10th consecutive cast lol. Those guys. I had some guys on the Nolan literally get on my heels after seeing me catch up on my casting side so I just moved over to where they been sitting for two hours and started catching them again every cast they moved again. Then I moved back to my original spot start catching them every cast again and I see them start to pick up and move and I finally looked at them and said listen you pick a spot and I'll go to the other spot and I'll catch fish there are everywhere you're just not catching them lol. They finally stayed put. Had two groups leave after only thirty min because I was catching hybrids every cast this last year never even saw them set the hook 20 feet from me. All these folks were conventional of course. I did Ty a kid that was fishing with his dad on a Clowser one day at the Nolan ask him if he had a weighted cork which he did and I showed him how to work it I thought dad was going to take the rod from the kid after I gave him that Clowser but it seemed the kid had a great day said it was the most fish he had ever caught his dad got skunked I think. He was to busy taking his kids fish off any way.

Showing off a fly like this is just plain old bragging.

The ONLY reason to fish with a fly rod in Texas
is to throw a POPPER, casting any other type fly just means you're doing something.

They even ate the paint off the eyes of that poor thing lol. I guess they did eat paint chips as a kid. I have a small box of my famous retired flys that got chewed up like that and still worked.

Nobody has mentioned sz 22 phesant tales lol. Acually caught a few on it fishing for gills lol. As they grow they feed on insect larva I guess they don't forget when they come back to where they were born.

There is one bad side affect of using a chartuse and white clouser. Your thumb might look like it has Leprosy lol if that's a bad side affect:)
