I would say try a football head jig, dark color. Or a spinner bait. I personally have had luck with a white spinner bait with Colorado blades with a trailer. I chose to use the end of a zoom ol monster worm in the junebug color(purple with glitter). For some reason the bass love that color and combo in my neighborhood lake
Can one become a master at fishing? Pshh... yes...

For stained water I would try a dark color (black, black/blue, plum)Zoom finesse worm with a 1/8 - 1/4 oz. Texas rig or shaky head. Fish slowly. Also try a craw imitator in black/blue.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Drag a jig painfully slow. Try a smaller bitsy bug jig.
