We could not have had a better January day than today. I had ask how to catch talapia an took my Flyrod saw a few surface but never caught one on it. Only had three fish at 11:30 and was about to head in to catch the games. Saw one more good point to hit and didnt leave it for two hours caught two talapia on traps and really spanked the bass for the duration. Those are some short fat strong little piggies in there had real close to 20 pounds big five big fish a little over five and a bunch of twins right around four all in 3-6 fow on a wind blown point on shad colored trap. Saw several come up and hit right at the boat. Was working parallel to the shore tring to keep it right in the sweet spot depth range. Talapia are pretty fish and about to make a good dinner:)

I don't think eating them will be any worse than fishing there lol. Was a really good trip minus the slow start but the finish made up for it. That's fishing should have been here yesterday should have stayed a little longer.

Oh hey rob yes you can fillet them exactly like crappie but I didn't get out an electric knife and went old school. I don't care if its just one I will use an electric knife next time. The scales and rib cage are much tougher. And don't go as thin when taking the fillet off the skin they have just a tiny bit of red flesh like on a sand bass.

If you would please e mail me the photo of the first picture to fringetackle@yahoo.com When I have the time I'd like to try my hand at it.
Thanks,
