Just curious, is there even a boat ramp in the water or are they waiting to see if the water comes up?

There are a couple marinas that have ramps in the water but if your not a customer or know them, they will not let you launch. You can launch from the bank in several places very easily due to all the rock. I've seen that lake come up very quickly with some rain.

Most people just put in off the bank, usually pays to have 4 wheel drive.

Travis is fishing like a powerhouse right now, and they fish LBJ plenty. There is absolutely no problem putting in off the bank. Keeps most of the jetboats and jetskis off the water as well. Its a win-win.

Champs is not going to a lake without a usable ramp when there us LBJ just up the road or even canyon south

We've put in off the bank for Bass Champs events for the last 8 or so years at Travis, not sure why they would change now. It's really not that big of an issue.

Tournament Point / Pace Bend where they usually launch from the bank for Bass Champs and TTZ is no longer useable. Some guys have tried it and did more damage to trucks and trailers then its worth. Dink Pearson and Arkansas Bend are the only places that I'm aware of that you can still launch from the bank as long as you have 4x4.

Here's the boat ramp I was out there last week to "check it out". I have purpose built, offroad crawler capable, 4wd on Super Swampers, with extreme axle articulation, Atlas Tcase, and lockers in front/rear axles. You plan to launch a boat there, you better have a vehicle like mine or one on standby to tug you out! I'm not one to "wheel" in an undesignated area, but I backed down, LIKE I had a boat/trailer just to see if I can partake in the white bass run this spring. Unless it improves, it's going to be fun!!! Probably result in launching, then upon return, loading the boat on the trailer, unhitch the trailer, Wheel back up the bank, then use my winch to recover my boat and trailer. That dark band, at water's edge, is about 20-25' of soup!!!

Unless it comes up some even the bank spots are hard to put in right now. If the water doesnt come up I hope they change it. If they dont I will still fish it but bet it hurts the turnout.
On a side note, I was told FLW would consider having a Rayovac tournament on Travis if there was a usable ramp.
