My daughter just moved to Houston. Looking for rent houses......The Woodlands, you can get a four bedroom, 3 bath, 2 car garage brick house for the same rent or less as a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1 car garage frame house in the Houston Heights. she's only 25 so she moved to The Heights (night life). But I was amazed at the lower rents in The Woodlands (good place for married couples with kids-not a lot of night life).

I stocked Lake Woodlands with 40,000 bass fingerlings about two years ago. With so much shad in that lake, they've grown well and are now showing up in increased catch rates of bass in the lake now.

There is also a good population of channel catfish, crappie and yellow bass in the lake, as well as some huge blue cats, a few yellows, some carp, and a smattering of other species. Sunfish not real strong in that lake.

You can use your big boat, but not your big motor (electric motors only in this lake....except, of course, for my crew and work boats).

The fishing rules are the same as for overall waterbodies in Texas. With the exception of, this is a private lake and you do not need a fishing license to fish there.

There is a good (free) ramp located at North Shore park with plenty of parking space.
