You can throw the wrong bait in the right place and still catch fish... but you can never throw the right bait in the wrong place and catch em... This. If any of us had THE lure that caught bass the majority of the time, none of us would be here because, at least one of us, would be rich beyond belief from selling them and the rest of us would be satisfied catching bass on them most of the time.

On the stage, he mentioned that he started out with the Rapala DT6, and then changed to his Livingston Lures pro series mid diving cranks. And the gopro footage form this morning, he was using his Livingston Lures.

It will show on the recap later I'm sure. The Rapala is bright red, the "prototype" Livingston was orange and brown.

You could have thrown almost any brand in red / orange where he was fishing today.
The fish were simply stacked and eating.
Location, location, location.

Randy Howell used Livingston and Rapala crankbaits. This is an excerpt from Bassmasters.com article regarding his win. "His Classic lure arsenal included a Livingston Lures model being developed within the Pro Series. Not yet available to the public, its a medium diver in a crawfish color. He also used a Rapala DT6 crankbait in the demon crawfish color and a Yamamoto bladed jig".

I got a couple of the deep divers and one floating stick bait. I haven't caught any on the deep divers, but I've done good on the floating stick bait. Fished on top in nearly 20' feet of water and they came up for it. The first one was nearly 7 lb and hooked up a five but the factory hook bent out. I dead stick them. The fish slurpped em down. I'll keep testing.
