With this morning's Texas temps, the power grid manager's (ERCOT) issuing a warning at 7:19 AM morning of being one step away from rolling blackouts, and a forecast of temps in the teens tonight, every power plant that can run in Texas should be humming. Should be a lot of hot water being released from those facilities that can be ramped up to 100% output capability.
As I drove past the Ray Hubbard plant this morning, it appeared to be pushing out quite a bit of steam.
So you guys that can go, keep those warm water fish honest while the rest of us are at work.

at 7am only one tower was steaming at the plant on the water of Ray Hubbard. the one behind the dam is always pushing a cloud to the stars from the generation process. I wish the one on the lake would kick in a little bit more.

My son and I were on Martin Creek Saturday and they were running two. Water temp was fairly cool for MC this time of the year. Fished the tressel area and temps ranged from 52-55 and we went into the mouth of the discharge cove/bay area and temps were 64-65. That area is usually in the mid 70's or so. I gather they are slowly phasing out the coal fired plants as planned.

EPA will not let them run if the coal plants are not up to date

Does the Hubbard plant generate hot water on a daily basis, even when the steam is not coming out of the stack?
Plants should be running hard the next few days due to school starting and cold temperatures.

Didn't start till after lunch but noticed only one stack going at times. All seemed to shut off for a short time, then two running that night. Saturday afternoon. Late Saturday. Sure like it better when all three stacks running. Earlier in December.
