Headed to east texas with txpacker4 for the last weekend of deer season and headed to lake of the pines Saturday. Pines ended up being a bust because a steady 25 mph wind made it unbearable. Ended up fishing a pond we've stocked with crappie. Black crappie have been present for 6-7 years now, and 3 years ago we added hybrid crappie that are doing quite well, they made up the majority of the stringer.

The hybrids are the ones with the broken vertical bar pattern. You can't see, but all the hybrids have a black racing stripe on they're nose because the fish farm we ordered them from uses male racing stripe crappie with femal white crappie.

Are these hybrids what some call Mohawks? they have a line going down the top of their head all the way to the dorsal? We catch them every once in a while out of Lewisville.
