That's funny I said the same thing. Great paint Congrats to my buddies Colby Ogden & Justin Royal for pulling off the win in the Boat US Collegiate Championship Series - South Texas Championship @ Falcon Today. 2 day - 6 fish for 28.44 If you want to sell that picture, you might consider scraping some paint off that lure. Any crankbait thrown all day and supposedly caught 28 pounds would have had the side paint worn down, and some teeth rash on it. between it and a hydrowave bass will not know what to eat.

I can tell you that as a Lure Company they are awesome and have great customer service. Other than that though I purchased a sqaurebill from them to give it a shot and see what it was all about. Never even got so much as a strike on one and when I would switch over to a custom painted wooden squarebill I would start catching. To me they are mostly a gimmick but just like any other bait out there can work if given ideal circumstances.

I am so confused...there are reindeer with led arses now? What does that have to do with crank baits! Just use a 10xd it is so big iit don't matter where you throw it will just snag all the fish that there pond. Tip of the day use ski rope for line with fluoro leader that is the only way to keep it from digging to china on that there pond. Didn't the elite winner on falcon Keith honeycolmbiskismith use a 6xd and said you had to make a certain perfect cast to hit the right perfect rock to catch those giants at falcon? Talk about trying to hit a reindeer on it's LED arse in the pale moonlight on Christmas Eve as it is prancing across the starie night sky I am mean soaring across like a rocket comet spaceship. Dag gum that is a heck of shot no wonder that is a good crankerbait don't even need laser sight on the ole 7mm mag with that pretty blinker on its arse. Look like 747 going over gvine blink blink. Lighting bug to tower permission for fly by? Well said, don't think I could have said it better myself.

I was curious what the pros thought about these lures. To the newbie it sounds like a good idea with the electronics but who knows until you actually try one. They must be very very waterproof. I think I will grab a few and try them out this spring.

Why are bass fishermen so closed minded?
The constant question of have you ever seen a light on a baitfish is beyond stupid.
Everyone who think's this should read a few books by Doug Hannon. Bass eat/attack for 3 basic reasons. Hunger, opportunity, anger/confusion. If you've ever seen a bass attack a pecan that's fallen out of a tree or a duck that was too close to it's bed, your mind will open a little as to what a bass might actually eat. I've seen a 5lb bass attack a floating crappie light that was in the water for about 5 seconds, I guarantee he wasn't chasing bait yet. He was just pissed off that it was there.
THEY WILL EAT ANYTHING AND WILL ATTACK OUT OF ANGER. Half of the lures you throw are not natural colors. Think about it.

Threw that exact same color DM 14 this past weekend on falcon. The bass we caught sure liked it...
Ill tell you one thing, it was awesome seeing that crankbait light up as youre cranking it at 730 in the morning and all of a sudden see it disappear and fish on!

OKay; for all the fisherman that are being negative toward this lure: red eyes, noise makers, no chipped paint & lights......... Right from the Strike King 6XD Series package: features 3D Eyes; compared to red eyes from lights, why do you need "3D" eyes ? selling tool possibly Free floating rattles; LL has the same kind of rattles ? selling tool or useful Chip roof paint; they advertise the paint, why ? selling tool. The picture from the college tournament showed no signs of paint chipping, maybe LL actually used chip proof paint, instead of just advertising that they do. The SK 6XD that I bought is Chartreuse with "sparkle glitter" on it, why the sparkle glitter ? maybe to create flashes of light with the sun ? That what the LL does with the internal chip, creates flashes of light. Why do spinner bait skirts have glitter in them now, to create light flashes, maybe. Wiggle Tighter: SK 6XD feature; so that it creates "sonic sound", same concept as the vibra shaft on a SK spinner bait, OH and the Sonic sound maker from the internal chip on a LL.
I really do not see a difference other than familiarity, advertisements & longevity of the company. If they catch fish, why not?

Do the shallow diving squarebills not light up? Because mine never did. I know they were supposed to make sounds too which I never heard on mine either (and yes there is a way to hear the sound without it being in the water) Im not dogging them or anything but there are alot of other crankbaits out there in the same price range that I have alot more conifidence in. And maybe thats the point.

My son and I just spent the last two days on Falcon with Billy throwing the Livingston DM 14's. For the most part I am a very skeptical person when it comes to baits or products that make claims that they have something better than the competition. I went with Billy's recommendation and bought the Livingston baits. Lets just say I am sold!!! Both my son and I caught PB's on the Livingston DM 14's. The fish weighed 5.99 and 10.16 That's cool!!

Ill tell you one thing, it was awesome seeing that crankbait light up as youre cranking it at 730 in the morning and all of a sudden see it disappear and fish on! I'd like to know what brand of polarized sunglasses you're using to see down 10-14 feet at Falcon at 730am light, as my $200 Costas are clearly a rip off. Everyone I've ever fished with down there can barely see 4-5 ft in good light...must be nice. All the gimmicky tech aside, I've yet to hear one person give these baits a solid thumbs up over PROVEN baits for each application. I've met the owner, and have followed the progress of the company closely as they're located here in San Antonio and I was privvy to their stuff before they started spending a wad on promotions this year. The company has great service, but the baits leave a lot to be desired at this point. The Pro Staff guys like Billy have every right to push the performance of the baits as that's what's expected for being affiliated with a company, but the hyperbole in this thread is pretty comical. If it's a confidence lure for you, more power to you, but (like others in this thread not on the payroll or blowing smoke) having thrown their baits and side by side against others for hours, there's no miracle performance boost. They've been outfished - every. single. time. I'm interested in seeing what baits Rago kicks out for them, but I haven't seen anything to get excited about yet.

Sounds about as natural as a lizard crawling around in 25' of water. At the end of the day, we are blessed to put any bait on the end of our line and fish some beautiful places, guys thinking outside the box Has been a good thing for this industry
