looking at it really does not help much, did your top end improve and was the rooster tail at or just below the top of engine, what was water pressure at wot?

I don't have a water pressure gauge on the boat. Only a temp gauge! When the trim is all the way up the rooster tail is twice as high as cowl... At least from my vantage point looking up from the drivers seat! RPM's go to 5700 (gauge tops out at 6000) and speed was GPS'ed at 53 mph. Raising the engine up to the 3.5" from the 5" previous owner had it has given me 500-600 more RPM's and maybe 1-3 more mph...

leave the engine where it's at.
next step is to have the prop looked at to make sure it's in good shape.

This is a slow time of year for my business, so I budget accordingly! That's why I like to do things myself! Lol kills the day, and saves me money... But I know enought that not all "projects" are doable by me... Like cleaning up the chips and polishing the prop... I don't have a stand to balance it on! I'll send it off next time I go to work!
