Does using a Marine radio require a Ham Radio License?
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!" ― Hunter S. Thompson

No license required. I used Marine Radio all the time in TN. The mountains limited the range, but here it should be great. Radio is the quickest way to start a boat show.

It will pay for itself on the first trip. We use ours everyday on Lavon. Other guides and people, not fishing for Sandies, will chime in and let us know they r busting. Helps a lot and saves time and gas.

I wish more people used them and monitored channel 16. I really like them in coastal area but don't see them used much inland. Just don't give out your hotspots unless you want company!

I hope more people get one, I think it's a good thing and love the instant weather, I live south of Greenville and I can get Tawakoni or Texoma weather anytime plus alerts.

If you don't want one, Don't get one --LOL-- Keith, I won't be getting one. I have a phone that works just fine. I also don't fish as much as I used to. It will be interesting the amount of boats that will show up from all sides of the lake the first time......"Hey I have fish blowing up everywhere on Yankee Creek point".......

DR. Whiplash, that looks like the one my wife ordered for me off the internet. I have been waiting for UPS to deliver it but they have lost the tracking number and my radio. Hmmm???
