The subject of electronics is coming up again and I thought it would be helpful if you have the time to post up some screen shots and maybe an explanation of what they are/mean?
I know some you won't want to fool with this but for those that do it will help many of us on here to learn something and for others trying to decide what they want.
Please don't let this thread go bad if you disagree with someone's interpretation of the screenshot if this thread grows any legs.

I'd like to see some deep water side scan of some trophys

This is a regular sonar-downscan shot, you can see the fish feeding on the busted up shad and catfish underneath!

Not too sure exactly but I suspect it is busted up shad and cats because I caught a nice 20 pounder and some eaters that day. Anybody tell me what you think.

Some blues on a shallow point with some lay downs and stumps.

This shot is a bit unusual, it was taken in early summer in East Texas. This was a mix of channel cat, crappie and even some Large mouth bass, they were sitting in this open flat area for at least two days. It was cloudy, breezy and they were hungry. The only cover close by was a creek channel about 75 yards to the west.



This shot was later on day two, you can see that the crappie have formed their own school and the channel cats are still some what scattered, I don't think the bass were here today as we didn't catch any. The crappie and kitties were still hungry.




This shot is a area that was near the last two shots, here there is a school of crappie with large mouth bass feeding on them. You can see the larger fish (bass) around the edge of the smaller crappie causing them to scatter. The bass were easy to catch but the crappie had other things on their minds and we only caught a few of them.



In this shot I just passed over a creek and you can see large suspended fish. I didn't fish here but I think these were buffalo as I've caught them in this area before.


In this shot I have sonar and side image running. These were channel cats scattered along the bottom, I think they were feeding on a school of shad which came into view just after I saved this screen.

In this shot I have both sonar and side image running. These are sand bass suspended over a rocky area with a small hump to it. The fish don't show up in the sonar because in water this shallow the beam cone is small and the fish are not directly under the boat.


I hope these help, there is so much to see under the surface that sometimes I forget to fish!

To the North West of the cursor a couple feet is a white dash



I saw that and said to myself, that's a big fish. The Sandies were holding to the roadbed as well as the flat head. 15 mins later the cat ate my slab. I catch this fish 5-10 times a year while on the same road bed.



I have about 6 pics of the same fish over the last 3 years.

Another pic of her on the roadbed in ambush.



You can see her to the right of the cursor, almost- half way. Her head is pointed South West.

All the popcorn white specks to the left of the cursor are sandbass and yellows.

How do you guys read that?
