Forecast says winds shifting back out of the south Thursday morning. The moon is waning, Friday thru Sun high 50s with manageable south to southeast wind 10-15. Deadsticking maybe starting, good for me, I can't catch or keep shad alive on my small boat yet.

And most important my wife says I can go fishing all three days, right after I clean the thanksgiving dishes

Any advice on a basic inexpensive place to stay on the TX side ?

Weather looks incredibly nice compared to the last couple days for this weekend. Even if Deadsticking isnt at full throttle, I imagine there will be a few striper ready to "dance" on a fluke.

We always have thanksgiving at the lake so were fishing the houseboat Friday. We will probably drift around Washita and Platter flats.

Buy paper plates & Eat Swanson Turkey TV dinners.

Hidden Acres, JD's cabins are a great place to stay, fully equipped. Took a couple of grandkids there this past year. We fished with JD the next morning, it was cold and rainy and we caught a lot of fish.

Now is a great time to go, Rob. From past many years JV and his crew normally went up there during the thanksgiving week and they did very well! IMO its the start of "hero" season for bigT. lol. Several group of birds to pick and choose. The bigger fish show up too. Should be fun! Post some pics!

Paper plates .. I wish, My Wife already has me getting down the fancy dishes ... but it is all good .. she understands .. plus I billed it as a scouting trip, so I can take her father in the spring, when he gets back from Taiwan.

I'm going on Saturday. I went weekend before last and did well. I will spend Thanksgiving with my wife's family, great folks, then I get to go fishing on Saturday!!!!!

Going to take the wife and 8 yr old for the sat. afternoon shift. Cant wait!!
