I also cast with the right hand and then switch the rod to my left hand as the bait hits the water. Didnt know there was another way to doing it, and honestly never though differently. It would take forever for me to learn how to cast with my left hand and to use my left thumb on the reel.

I do the same thing. Felt kind of weird when I started fishing baitcaster but screw it. I don't want to take time retraining and having a bunch of bad casts. haha

I fish left and right, have several of each just natural for me!
