I live near boat ramps 6,7, and 8. When I drove by boat ramp 8 the ramp closed sign wasn't there so I assume its open. The water level is well above where it needs to be to open 8. As far as 11 goes my guess is they wont open it till water level is a little higher so they don't have to go right back over there and close it again.

I'm not so sure they "rush out there and close" the ramps when lake levels fall below the posted closure levels.

Ramp #1 was 0.3 to 0.4 ft BELOW their "close it" level for over a month, and never was closed.

You're right about that but that may be because ramp 1 is way busier than 11.
Either way I would love to have ramp 11 open. I have never launched from there and have been itching to fish upriver. But I have a Jon boat with trolling motor only so I need that ramp to be open if Im going to fish upriver.

The govt shutdown did force me to learn where Ramp 1 is located, and it is a great ramp when the south wind is blowing hard, as it is sheltered from the south wind. takes me 15 more minutes to get there (I live north of Canyon Lk), but worth it (sometimes)

Last couple of years around this time I usually do ok near emergent stumps in 2 to 10 ft of water in the back of Tom's creek near ramp 6.

Never fished upriver. Is ramp 11 open? I know it should be. Good luck deerslayer64d.

Been wanting to go upriver but ramp 11 has been closed. Only have a trolling motor on my Jon boat so I need that ramp to be open to fish up there. I guess now is my opportunity.

I will be taking my kayak out. I was wondering if crappie would be more shallow or if they will still be in deeper water. I have had some good success for crappie around ramp 11
