After all these years of trying to learn a lake. 50+yrs, I'm just now finding that I have been going at it the wrong way. I have always spent time on the lake. using maps and G.P.S, Fishing every place that I thought would hold fish, weather condition, water temp, time of season, A heck of a lot of gas hard work. well at my age, I better not waste any more time. I going to start learning a lake by fishing off banks and docks. Thanks Jason. I'll start tomorrow. Any favorite banks or docks that can give me a head start will be great. Again! Thank You for the Info.

So what happen to the AOY purse? Was it awarded to 2nd place points and did they take a poly? I fished most of these tourneys and thought Brett did a great job.

I know there are a lot of us are mad and have a right to be. I think we have expressed our feelings on this forum. If buy any chance these guys are innocent. I want to say I'm sorry. They are going thru a though time right now. I don't think I would like to be in their place, guilty or not. They have paid the price already. Lets let it go and look to next year. We have all said things in the heat of the moment. [But what if we are Wrong]?

I know some really good guys that have failed polygraphs. They are not 100% accurate either. Some people just can't pass em.

I have never personally fished with Derek but I know him and have hung out with him enough to back him up 100% on his word, he is a great guy and would never even allow any chance of any wrong doing, I have fished with Jason a few times and he has never even questioned or asked me to do anything or allow anything against what's right, both if these guys has put their time in just like any of us and they have proved that they can catch fish, failing the poloy does raise some red flags to those of you who don't know these guys, and that's understandable, but if you ask the people who actually know them..... Can vouche for them 100%.

I know both of these guys and Ill say to them get your names cleared NOW! Take whatever measures necessary to do so. Contact a reputable TD and examiner that would look at the failed results and administer the new tests. I really dont see any other way this can be handled. If you choice not to do so, it leaves the whole issues still in question. I dont see how either of you can possibly fish tournaments again without doing this unless at the club level. This is my advice to you Derek!
The whole thing sucks but time is running out!

I am a pastor at Fielder Church and Jason May fishes in our Fielder Church Bass Club. He has dominated our club for the last two years. We are a catch and release club that uses "Golden Rule" measurements with weight conversions to determine winners. Therefore we depend heavily on the integrity of each man and his partner. I have fished with Jason on numerous occasions and also watched from another boat as he catches more fish than anyone else in our club. He easily triples the number of casts that most of us makes on tournament day and he has amazingly fast reflexes. At first some of us wondered if he could truely be that much better than the rest of us, most of whom are pretty darn good fisherman. But now, after many of us have fished with him we believe him to be a superior angler. I believe that Jason is innocent of any wrong doing and is only guilty of being a truely gifted fisherman. I hate that a potentially flawed polygraph has brougt his skills and integrity into question. I stand behind my friend Jason May.

Tyler, I think this is still going to be starting up the week after daylight savings time takes place. I hope so. I always looked forward to Wednesday Nights. It will be posted in this forum.

Never fished a tourney but I can tell you from EXPERIENCE that polygraphs CAN be deceived rather easily. When I was in the Police Academy, we had the fortune to spend an afternoon with an administrator and with one simple technique, any question can be answered either way, and the outcome be the same. The test itself is a flawed method, and there in lies the issue....its not a truth detector, its a physical measurement of how someone responds physically to questions and then interpreted by one person.
I never knew polys were given to winners, it seems such a waste of money.....at best, all it can do is raise a question of why someone PHYSICALLY reacts to a group of questions....its not a lie detector. AND that is not, in my opinion, enough of a reason to ruin someone's creditability and reputation.
There have been NO advancements in polygraphs since its invention....so why is this outdated and proven inadequate method being used to either confirm a anglers reputation/integrity?
I know a lot of people are saying they have passed them w/o issues.....but that doesn't mean you didn't lie, it means your body didn't react in an adverse manner that the administrator deemed as deceptive. For those of you that take this stand you should ask yourself, what if you told the truth and were told you failed and your friends and fellow anglers now look at you as a cheater.
Having a simple camera or a tourney rep (judge) in the boat is the only way, or the best way to keep everything and everyone honest.

Hang in there guys. Biggs has gone through the toughest of polys and he is right on. I know good guys that have failed for a variety of reasons and I know firefighters that freely admit to learning how to pass knowingly telling a lie and passing with flying colors. I DONT BELIEVE IN A POLYGRAPH AT ALL. If anyone was going to ever attempt to cheat, I have a difficult time believing in would be risking reputation, integrity and fishing future in a weekly working mans tournament...I watched you guys this year and yall were always in high % spots....Good luck and hope to see you both on the water.

They won't be allowed back on The Pool but they needed to do this for the future tournaments with other trails...
