Gary- Perdido was the destination.

A couple guys had the new Cabo 80, & it performed flawlessly.
I think Boyd was fishing a new Cabo 60 & it was killing YFT's just as fast as any other reel on the boat, FWIW

Y'all will have good success, I'm sure.
Best of luck!

Man what a trip. A great thanks to Willie & Texas Outdoor Organizers for another excellent charter with the Scat Cat crew who made it all come together awesome Capt's and Deck hands. Great "Can Do" attitudes and outstanding service as always with Fisherman's Warf. Thanks to Joe and his sweet Margarita machines I used that liquid pain killer to help me stay loose so I could fight them Tuna. "cheers"

I had 8 good hook ups on YFT... 3 shorter YFT to 30" keeper sized fish on the Silver Jiao Long H4L jig and a dozen BFT. 2 on (blue back) Maguroni and one on Benthos Jig around 60# each.

I did have one huge YFT that slammed and hooked up on a Dorado pattern Mayhem H4L surface stickbait and took 23# of drag for a good 30 seconds twice before pulling the hooks but one rod bending epic battle while it lasted. I had another huge blow up on a Wahoo pattern H4L Siren V2 Popper but I had to raise my rod tip to let a hooked up angler down the rail at the time and was unable to hook up. Many thanks for the H4L baits several nice fish were caught on their lures and they have a new customer 4 life in me. cheers

We had a great TFF Crew as always great friendship, everyone helping take care of each other what ever you needed or forgot somebody would hook . Ate like kings with the food everyone brought to share, you just cant beat that.

A big thanks to all of you that helped make this another of those trips you wish could go on forever. See Yall again on Tuna 13 Sign me up I'm ready to go do it again.

Gary I was using a new Cabo 60 I managed about 275 yards of 65# tuff line xp.. I can't tell you how much drag I was using but I never had an issue and the was an 80.8 # tuna weighed on the scale that it helped kill..

Brian and Boyd,

Thanks guys

I wasnt able to put my Cabo 80 to any real test last trip.. There were no YF caught.. I did catch a 55lb AmberJack that would have put it to the test but I had a Saltiga in hand when it hit..lol

Glad you guys had a great trip!

I hope the full moon thing doesnt mess up our trip this weekend.. We will see if it is just an excuse or if there is some truth to it.

Seems like everyone has been catching YF very well as of late so If we don't, I will believe the Full moon thing..

Oh,I know, perhaps I can bring a few bananas on board to cancel out the full moon curse!

You need a banana colored popper with a black belly the bruised side.. Capt. Russel would throw you over broad about the time you got that thing tied on..

Here some pics I took. Sorry about the quality, the iPhone does not like night shots or any movement. Funny I could not get people to freeze during a tuna fight... go figure.

I had the canner fired up by noon yesterday ...

I have a question for you guys here that can tuna.

I've been canning tuna for years and think I have that down pretty good. But some friends want me to can some tuna with jalapeo peppers. Since I've never done that I'm looking for some help on that.

How many peppers per pint jar? (They like some heat)

Slice the peppers or chop them?

Any help is appreciated.

I've always had good luck putting a whole jalapeo and about about half a teaspoon of minced garlic per pint. It's just about the right amount of heat for what my family likes. It's also good canned with sesame seeds. Looks like Y'all had an awesom
e trip. Congrats! I don't think it matters how you cut them up as long as they're in there. I've always just sliced them lengthwise and pack everything tight in the jar
