thanks, dmcputtz we will try shallow. some of the fm whites look like they are reabsorbing their eggs. usually catching 80% males 20% fms now. they seem to be starting to school up a little more now, strange year with all these cold fronts.

BTW, Doug, We had Bluewing Teal in the slough at the river about 2 weeks ago. We went fishing at Tylers on the river, I drove the 4wheeler into the water. Flushed them up... clap

Did the weather keep you guys off the lake? I'm surprised the lake didn't come up but a couple of inches from all that rain last week. Still about two feet low according to COE

hey, Lawton, how was your trip? inquiring minds want to know! Well Chuck I was a little reluctant to post a report because I didn't take any pictures and I know how you are about that LOL Brother Cliff no showed but Kirby12 and I hit launched our yaks at daybreak. It was Kirbys maiden voyage so he wasn't into the fishing part as much as me. I caught five whites in 15 minutes then lost the school. We hung around on bank after the first storm around 9:00 am and I boxed 11 cats and a goo...Lawton

Sometimes words just can't describe why we spend time outdoors. For many nature is as far away as the moon or as close as the back yard. Yegua creek in the Lake Somerville State Park is my favorite place to hang out and explore.. you never know just what you might hear and see on any given day when walking the banks of the creek..

Just wondering if any of you guys could answer this question for me. I posted in the whites and hybrid section

Has anyone been to welch park for the firework show? Can you watch from the water in your boat? If so, I was wondering how crazy will it be on the water. Thinking about putting in at rocky creek if you will not get run over by idiots. Want to take the wife and our 4 year old twins out to see them. Any advise on this possibly stupid idea.

I haven't heard that the fireworks show at Welch park is a crazy or dangerous time but being out on the water after dark with a bunch of party lit people does sound like a disaster waiting to happen.

It looks like Lake Somerville has been steadily rising after the recent rains. Has anybody been out there recently?
