Plastic worm, 4" - 6", straight or curly tail, T-rigged or Shakey head jig, all depending on conditions.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I have a few go-to baits, but the most confidence would be the unglamorous Blakemore Road Runner, 1/8 oz, with a Zoom twin-tail grub body. The wide grub increases action, slows the fall, and stabilizes the bait.
My arsenal of tackle is...well...comprehensive. Yet, the RR catches the most and biggest bass.
Went to the coast armed with all the must-have tackle for the big three, yet the RR caught the most reds, trout, and flounder.
Crappie? Sandies? Hybrids? Stripers? Same story. I've even caught a bunch of big channel cats, much to my disappointment, on 'em.
Otherwise, I love the Salty Super Fluke.

Yep. The Road Runner will get em when nothing else will.
Other than that it'd be them Zoom super salt plus finesse or tricks
Then the lipless and square bill

For shallow water fishing or in grass a 4 1/2" Trophy Hunter GrandeBass Rattlesnake fished weightless or almost wehghtless (1/2 a nail weight).
For deeper fish crankbait in Sexy Shad, Chartruse with black back or shad color.
