Been on Still house when it was clear to 20 ft, watched bass hit or dd22s. Amistad can be the same. I have never seen Belton have 15+ ft visibility.

Thanks! Belton. Adding that to the list with Amistad.
I gotta google PK and Squaw Creek. Don't know anything about them.
So use to being able to see 20-30 feet down out here... you won't see 20-30' down but seeing a smallmouth hit a top water from 7-8'down is pretty neat.

Stillhouse has 20 feet!? That would be fun to able to see bass hit a deep diver.

I would put Alan Henry up there with Amistad when it comes to water clarity.

Amistad, last time we were there you could easily see the bottom in 25-30 ft. Never been on another lake like that.

Belton don't have anything on clearness compared to Wheeler Branch in Glen Rose.

Texanna.............yeah right !!
Amistad, The first time I fished it in early 80's I was amazed how clear it was. This was before grass and everywhere you looked it was gin clear water, nothing to keep from seeing the bottom. I think its more clear than Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma.
Thanks, Billy

I fished Wheeler Branch last year and was in a cove in 18' of water and could see logs sittin on the bottom. Wheeler branch is between Glen Rose and Squaw Creek it's a City lake and they only allow so many boats on it each day. It costs $30 to launch, but if you havent been there yet, you need to go fish it. It reminds me of a little squaw creek without the warm water. They opened it in 2011. They have been stocking it since 2008 as it was filling up. The place is idle only, and it's pretty small, but it has some cool fish habitat. Out in the middle of the lake there is a huge penninsula and island straight out from the boat ramp. On the East side of that stretch between the point and the island they took a bull dozer and made about 15 to 20 ridges and valleys. If you google it now you can see what I'm talking about as the lake is down from when it opened. We caught about 15 bass up to 7.9 lbs that my buddy caught. We took a picture and threw it back, then realized when we got home it could have been the lake record. It's got small mouth in there and I saw Barry Stokes and Bill Wilcox catch one on there shows back when the lake first opened. I have scuba dived in PK, Squaw Creek and Travis and this lake is definately got clearer water.
